). If you haven't been by w3scool yet, you better go there, or at least keep it open in a seperat tab, since I won't be explaining everything here.
Step 1: Making a design
Make a simple design of what you want to do. Here's a design I made for this tutorial/walkthrough:

If you download the psd file you will see that I have sliced a couple of images out. The top gradient, the bottom gradient, the butterfly and the white border inside the textfield. I have done this already because I am experienced and know what parts I will be needing to do the design - When you try it the first time you might have to go back an reslice a couple

For this tutorial series I am explaining different elements you can create or modify with the help of CSS. The level of experience that is needed to be able to understand the tutorials can differ and will be in no order. I will try to explain the things as simple as possible though.
The Basics
To create a scrollbox you don’t need much, just a box with a limited height or width in order to enforce the scrollbar. If you don’t limit the dimensions of the box it will adjust itself to the space given by the browser resolution and settings.
The limited dimension itself doesn’t create the scrollbar,

How to Make a Sticky Bar

Character-Shape Adoptions

i tried it but still some things i don't understand when i upload my journal background picture (with tinypic website)

it puts it in place but alot of place is white around it and i don't wanna repeat it verticaly just once with the full background picture

but when the journal text is long more and more white around the background picture is there :s

hope you or someone else here can help me . the background picture i tried too put (as test mostly) is this : [link]

(maybe the option the text is in scroll down option) aslong the background picture is only 1 time and i full place (not repeated verticaly).
