The sun is hiding... but it is not such a big secret where it is going.
Shot from the presidio area, the golden gate bridge is just out of the scene to the right. We were on the side of a cliff, and while we were there someone slipped on the mud and almost fell off the edge of the cliff but grabbed a root at the last second, barely escaping the rocks below. It was quite a night.

---> That is a reflection of the sun in the water from behind the clouds BTW, not lens flare <---

nice dynamic range, i thing HDR could help you here, if i'm right :)
Peacefull shot, nice composition too, sounds like a flare under the sun's rays, that's not a issue of course, just wanted to input this.

its the sun reflecting off the water =P... which is kinda where the title comes from. HDR definitely

I shoot with contrast turned all the way down... so I have to do some work on all my photos to get them correct =).

it actually helps in quite a few situations. its usually easier to turn contrast up afterwards than to pull out those nice tones in between.

Yikes! So this was one adventurous photo! Glad you're ok, and from what I can tell, it was well worth it, cause the photo is lovely. :heart:

I too would have liked to have a bit more light on the land part, maybe sort of like this (hope you don't mind the little edit). But it's nice the was you posted it as well, it is more mysterious.
